It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Betty Sellers on December 10, 2024, at 2:42 a.m. Surrounded by her family, she left this world and entered into heaven, free from pain and suffering.
Betty was a beacon of love and kindness, whose unwavering generosity and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a cherished wife to Dennis Sellers, a loving mother to Denny Sellers and Justin Crutchfield, and a devoted grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her Parents J.T. Crutchfield and Virginia Box and her Sister Sue Virginia Garcia. Her ability to connect with people was extraordinary. She remembered their stories, celebrated their joys, and was always there in times of need. Betty’s kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and she had an innate gift for making everyone feel valued and loved.
Betty’s passion for helping others was evident in her work as a health caretaker, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. She dedicated her life to caring for those in need, always going above and beyond to ensure their well-being. Her selfless nature and compassion made her an irreplaceable presence in the lives of those she served.
Family meant everything to Betty. She poured herself into her loved ones, creating cherished memories through thoughtful gestures, incredible meals, and acts of love. Her brisket will forever be a family favorite, and her care packages were symbols of her nurturing heart. But it wasn’t just family that felt her love—Betty's chosen family, those she mentored and guided, were also recipients of her boundless devotion and compassion.
Betty lived her faith through her actions, and her life was a living testament to her Christian values. She found strength in the words of Isaiah 40:31: "But those that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint."
She shared this strength through her service to others, whether by offering a helping hand, showing kindness to strangers, or even simple, thoughtful acts like bringing in her neighbors’ trash cans. Her love was unconditional, and she touched every life she encountered with a radiant smile, a kind word, and, when necessary, a dose of honest wisdom delivered from a place of love.
Betty’s legacy is one of selflessness, community, and a faith that never wavered. Her memory will continue to inspire us all to love more deeply, cherish family, and share kindness wherever we go. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was—a woman whose love and impact will forever echo in our hearts.
Betty passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by those she adored. Although her time on Earth was far too short, her impact was immeasurable. Heaven has gained an angel, and Betty’s love and light will continue to guide us until we meet again.
A memorial service to Betty’s life will be held on January 2nd at 3 PM, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery - 2830 Riverside Pkwy. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a woman who will never be forgotten and whose love will always remain with us.
