Obituary

Betty Jean Neff, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 82.

Betty was born on April 20, 1944, in Arizona to Lloyd Marvin and Mettie (Packard) Marvin. She was the second of two children and grew up with a strong foundation of faith, family, and hard work that remained with her throughout her life.

As a young woman, Betty faithfully served a mission in Scotland for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony and love for the gospel guided her throughout her life and blessed all who knew her.

On April 13, 1968, Betty married the love of her life, Warren Buster Neff, in the Manti, Utah, Temple. Together, they built a loving home and were blessed with eight children, creating a legacy centered on faith, service, and family.

Betty was a devoted mother to Warren Edward (Mary) Neff of Thornton, Colorado; Bethena Aileenn Neff of Grand Junction, Colorado; Lloyd Hyrum (Sharon- Duran) Neff of Grand Junction, Colorado; Heather LaDawn (James) Mors of Clifton, Colorado; Adam Leon (Kara) Neff of Grand Junction, Colorado; Justin Lance (Kathie) Neff of Grand Junction, Colorado; Quincy Lee Neff of Grand Junction, Colorado; and her youngest son, Phillop Neff, who preceded her in death at birth.

Throughout her working years, Betty enjoyed serving others through food service. She worked at the Target Food Court, Mesa College, and later at Pat's Kitchen in Mesa Mall, where she remained until her retirement. She was known for her kindness, friendly smile, and willingness to help those around her.

Above all else, Betty treasured her family. She found great joy in watching her family grow and was deeply proud of each of them. She leaves behind a lasting legacy through her seven surviving children, 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren Buster Neff; her youngest son, Phillop Neff; her parents, Lloyd Marvin and Mettie (Packard) Marvin; and her only sibling, Leon Marvin.

Betty will be remembered for her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unconditional love for her family. Her example of service, devotion, and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that, through the gospel of Jesus Christ and His plan of salvation, families can be together forever.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, located at 2235 Kingston Road, Grand Junction, Colorado.

Entombment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
