Bernard Keith Jones, age 92, passed away peacefully following a brief illness in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Born May 12, 1934, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Paul and Emma Jones. After graduating from high school, Bernie attended West Virginia Tech for a brief period before marrying Nancy.

Bernie began working for Union Carbide in West Virginia and, in 1967, was transferred to Uravan. Although it was quite a change, Bernie and Nancy quickly settled in and loved the friends they made and the adventures they shared in Uravan. In 1977, Bernie was transferred to Grand Junction where he and Nancy lived for the remainder of their lives. They loved living in Colorado, and shared a wonderful life filled with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and lifelong friends.

Bernie’s passion was being outdoors – hunting, fishing, camping, hiking - and he took every opportunity to explore the wonders of Colorado. He went elk hunting as recently as 2024 and was planning some fishing this summer at Vega Reservoir.

Bernie also loved meeting new people, renewing old friendships, and sharing a good joke or two – or three! He never hesitated to lend a hand to those in need, and lived a life guided by his unwavering faith in God.

Memorial services will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, 10:00 am, at Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Services, 904 N. 7th Street, Grand Junction, CO.
