Astom Mathilde Baroumbaye, aged 22, passed away on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, after a tragic accident at Mesa Monument.
Born on September 6th, 2002, in Ndjamena, Chad, Africa, Mathilde was the beloved daughter of Noubaïssem (Nouba) and Dobou Yogoue (Florence), who lived in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Mathilde graduated from Central High School and continued her education at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. She worked diligently in fast-food restaurants as a manager for five years, and also spent time employed at Sam’s Club.
A devoted member of Faith Heights Church, Mathilde found joy in working in the children’s department. She enjoyed athletics and loved spending time in parks, sharing these passions with friends and family.
Mathilde will be remembered for her outstanding care and love for her parents and siblings.Though she was friendly, she also cherished moments of quiet reflection.
She is survived parents Nouba and Florence and also by her sisters, Grace and Sephora (spouse of Mamadou Kamara, residing in Lone Tree, Colorado), and by her brothers, Daniel and Kelita. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at FHC (600 28 1/4 Road).
