Anthony Rivas

August 5, 1993 — August 26, 2022

Anthony Jordan Rivas was born to Anthony Joey Rivas and Jesica Martinez August 5th 1993. He was the big brother to Taylor Rivas, and Sydney Rivas. He grew up and lived in Orchard Mesa. After his parents separation his mother married Cloyd Hughes and adopted two younger brothers Robert and David Hughes. His father married Giana and Anthony became the big brother to Gabriella, Giavanna and Gennaveve Rivas. Anthony is preceded in death by Uncle Nathan Martinez, and cousins Elijah and Noah Gastelum.

Anthony was introduced to foster / adult care at a young age through his mother’s work and was a champion of the cause of caring for at risk adults. He gave heartily to those in need. Often feeding, clothing, or providing transport to people who were unable to care for themselves. He cared for, in the home he owned, 3 adults including his brother Robert. They were his family. Taking the majority of his time and effort.

Anthony had many hobbies, he pulled moderator duties in channels and games. He had a gaming channel which allowed him to do what he always dreamed of most, being paid for video gaming. Some summers Anthony could be found camping, hiking, rock hounding, or brushing up on his photography with family. Anthony had a true passion for cars. Whether is was low range rock crawling, cruising down dusty trails or chasing adrenaline on the street. One of his latest adventures was sky diving. His passion was fueled by the rush of being alive. He loved his growing car collection and looking for the next car that would give him the thrill the previous vehicle could not.

On August 26th Anthony, chasing the adrenaline that driving fast gave him and the feeling of being alive, lost his life on the monument. He will be missed by all who he has helped, loved and called family along the way.
