Anna Jean Hinchman, age 98, passed away on February 13, 2026, in Fruita, Colorado. Born on February 26, 1927, in Kimball Creek, Colorado. Anna was one of nine children raised on the family homestead ranch.

Throughout her long and vibrant life, Anna embraced the joys of ranch living and developed a deep appreciation for nature. Her days were filled with activities that reflected her adventurous spirit and enduring connection to the land. Spent many years logging on Uncompahgre National Forest and running a sawmill. She found happiness in bowling, ranching, feeding birds, gardening, canning, and hunting; each hobby a testament to her love for the outdoors and her community.

Anna’s devotion to family remained steadfast. She is survived by her children, Eddie Hinchman and Cheryl, and their children and great grandchildren, as well as, her remaining siblings Harold Dougherty and Martha Mathews. The bonds she shared with them were a cherished part of her life’s journey.

Those who knew Anna will remember her resilience and warmth. Her remarkable work ethic and gentle care for others left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Anna’s legacy lives on through the memories she created and the love she gave so freely.
