It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Allen Wade Acosta.
A fisherman, a father, a son, a brother, a husband, a carpenter, a diligent entrepreneur-Allen was truly an intricate and radiant man, ever clothed in the faith of our Lord. His testimony allowed him to traverse the adversity of murky waters with a steady hand, guiding his kin through it. He found joy in immersing himself in nature and being a devoted protector to those he loved.
Allen was born August 14, 1998 in Grand Junction, CO to Valente Acosta and Brandy Guthrie. Allen attended multiple schools in the Grand Valley which consisted of him playing football at Plateau Valley High School and he concluded his formal education with graduation from Grand Junction High School in 2017. Allen was very talented and had practiced his skills in a multitude of fields including ranching, carpentry, construction, mining and iron working.
Allen made the decision to give his life to his Lord and Savior in 2021, publicly committing his faith and servitude to Christ with baptism at Canyon View Vineyard Church. Shortly afterwards, he reconnected with the love of his life, Jocelyn. They started their family together with the birth of their first son, Myles, September of 2022. Allen was an amazing father and was blessed to extend his family with the birth of their second son, Bransyn, October of 2023. Although Allen will not be present in bodily form, his third child is expected to arrive in February 2026, and we know that he will be present in spirit to protect and guide each of his children from above.
Allen is survived by his wife, Jocelyn Renae Acosta; his beloved sons, Myles Valente Acosta, Bransyn Wade Acosta and baby to come; father, Valente Acosta (Heather Jenkins, Kinley Jenkins, Kooper Jenkins, Klayton Jenkins, and Kaleb Jenkins); mother, Brandy Guthrie; paternal grandma, Lenna Sadler; maternal grandma, Phyllis Wright; siblings, Megan Acosta (Lane Morosini), Isaiah Atencio (Capri Morgan), Kayden Atencio, Brihana Atencio; nieces and nephews, Callie Black, Kolson Black and Wrenley Morosini.
A source of boundless love and immense generosity, and above all, a pillar of his family, while his body may no longer be on this earthly plane to direct us, his presence will remain steadfast in our hearts, steering his cherished ones to tranquil waters. Now at peace in God’s eternal realm, Allen will cloak us in the sanctity of his care, watching over his beloved from above.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
