Aletta Orlene Sorensen

October 14, 1942 — October 9, 2023

Aletta was born in Richfield Utah to George Hugh Chesnut and Orlene Z Chesnut. She had 3 brothers Ronald, Sherrsl & Kip and 1 sister, Madiline Chestnut Morris. She married Terry Dan Sorensen on September 14, 1958. Aletta said she felt blessed to be able to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this year. She is survived by her Husband Terry Dan Sorensen, Sister Madiline Morrism and her 4 children. Terry lee Sorensen (Teresa), Corry Dean Sorensen, Colett Sorensen, Wendy Sorensen McFarlin (William), along with her 24 grand and great grand children.

Aletta passed away at her home with her family as she wished, after a long hard battle with Pulmonary Fibroses. She always said her family was the most important thing to her, she loved her flowers as she always had beautiful flower gardens surrounding her home. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafting of all kinds. You could always come into her home, and she would be playing games with family members, and she would always welcome you to join in. She loved her games and taking scenic drives. She was always grateful for every person in her life and for every blessing she received.

Aletta never met a stranger; she welcomed every person she met as if they were a member of the family. She had many jobs in her life from house keeping to managing kitchens and she ended her career as a dietary supervisor in a retirement home in Grand Junction. Although she took her jobs seriously and was an asset to every employer, she always put family first. She worked tirelessly to make sure every holiday was extra special for her residents in the retirement home and then she would rush home to offer her wonderful cooking skills to her family and friends.

We will miss her smile, her way of making everything beautiful, her cooking and most of all her beautiful soul and open heart
