Thomas Levi Kirkpatrick was born November 22, 1948 to William (Frank) and Thelma Kirkpatrick in Grand Junction, Colorado. He died November 6, 2019 while walking his dog on his property in Loma. His family moved to Delta, Colorado soon after his birth, and Tom spent his childhood on the family farm in Peach Valley. He graduated from Delta High School in May of 1967, and briefly attended Mesa Junior College. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1969. He served the next six years as a Drill Instructor, rising to the rank of Sergeant first class, E-7. He married Sharon Hill in 1970, and together they had two sons, Wayne and Jack. Tom farmed on Orchard Mesa and in Loma. He worked in the construction business for many years and also operated a hog farm on his Loma property. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his two boys, Wayne (Desi) and Jack (Kristi), and one brother, John. His six grandchildren meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
